A new path on a long journey

Lucid life retreat has been a dream many years in the making. I purchased this property back in 2000. It was an empty block with no services or development of any kind and it has taken over 20 years to build it to what it is now, a place that feels established, feels like home.

As I have started a new chapter in my life, recently ending with my last employer of 6 years, I felt it was time to finally put a dream of mine into reality.

My inspiration for the retreat has been lucid dreaming, the state of awareness where one is actively aware that you are dreaming while you are still dreaming. I have practiced this over many years now, and it is a constant source of fascination for me. It the Buddhist understanding that lucid dreaming, while a profound and beneficial state of mind, is not an end in itself. The same level of consciousness can be brought into all of life, so that life itself can be experienced as a form of dreaming.

When we ‘wake up’ in our dreams and become lucid, there is often a feeling of freedom, joy, wonder and aliveness the accompanies it.These are qualities that we all want more of, I certainly do. We may only catch glimpses of these feelings during the day, but just like lucid dreaming they can be cultivated and created in waking life. So, the retreat is about providing a space to do just that, even if just for a day or two.

Through new experiences and exploring our senses in different ways, life can become a creative act. We don’t need to experience those creative moments all the time, even a few minutes of ‘lucidity’ can recharge you, bring you into a sense of who you truly are.

I want to experience more and more of those moments of lucidity, and I am inspired to work with others to find those moments, sometimes together, sometimes alone.

It is therefore why I choose to offer a broad range of services. From massage, qi-gong, connecting with nature, sound work, tantric practices and, of course, lucid dreaming coaching. Everyone has different things that enliven us, bring us closer to lucidity, so choices are important. These services all revolve around entering a mindful state, but approach from quite different angles.

I look forward to meeting some of you, and exploring and enjoying this new path together.
